Staff Profiles

Leonard De Los Prados, Certified Public Accountant
Mr. De Los Prados has been providing comprehensive accounting, tax and management consulting services since the founding of his firm in 1982. He holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After graduation he joined the international accounting firm of Arthur Young & Company as staff auditor. For two years he held financial management positions with Litton Industries, Inc., and the Boeing Company. He headed the accounting department of the Nuclear Division and later managed the Financial Planning and Analysis department of the B-1 Bomber Program at Rockwell International for eight years. He has lectured at the UCLA Extension Program and holds a California Teaching Credential. He is fluent in Spanish and provides international consulting services. He has acted as Trustee and expert witness in litigation support services. He has been appointed as Debtor’s Accountant by the United States Bankruptcy Court on Chapter 11 cases.

Sean Brand, Chief Accountant
Sean is the firm’s Chief Accountant. With over 20 years of experience in the accounting and tax profession, he is primarily responsible for the analysis , recording and classification of business transactions for the ultimate inclusion in financial statements and tax returns. His expertise extents to the understanding of complex financial transactions including record reconstruction for current and prior year’s business operations. He is fluent in Spanish.

Carolina (Carol) De Los Prados, Accounting and Financial Consultant
Ms. De Los Prados provides consulting services to our firm in the areas of financial
projections, accounting and taxation, as well as short and long term planning. She has
particular expertise in electronic reporting on United States Bankruptcy Court Chapter 11
cases. Prior to her association with our firm, Carolina provided operations and
management consulting services to the apparel industry for 32 years. She holds an MBA
in Accounting from the California State University, Sacramento and a Bachelor’s Degree
in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Entrepreneurship from the University of
Southern California. Carol is also an Independent licensed Insurance Producer in Life,
Health, Long-Term Care and Annuities as well as a licensed California Realtor.

William E. Ellis, Strategic Associate
Bill was a certified public accountant for over 40 years. His experience includes a wide variety of business and tax advisory matters involving individual and institutional investors or advisors, social clubs, partnerships, S Corporations, and REITs. He has advised clients with all real estate industry property-types including office, retail, industrial, multi-family, hospitality, golf courses, and residential homebuilding. Since 1999, Bill has principally served various golf, golf/resort community and private club developers as a result of his involvement in golf industry related tax matters at the national levels of the Internal Revenue Service.

Bill was twenty-five years with Ernst & Young LLP in Indianapolis and Chicago and its Midwest Director of Real Estate Tax Services. His practice included serving residential, retail, hospitality and commercial developers, REITs and institutional real estate advisors.

From early 1999 through 2003, Bill was the national director, tax services, to the golf industry practice of KPMG located in Atlanta. This practice group performed substantial tax planning services for golf course owners, private club developer/owners and residential developers with a focus on planning for golf community developments to defer income and maximizing depreciation of golf course improvements. Bill formulated and directed KPMG’s efforts with the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) representation of the industry on a national, coordinated basis before the IRS and their initiatives that targeted the golf course industry. This resulted in Industry Issue Resolution I and Revenue Ruling 2001-60.
